About

I live in Brighton and work as a freelance pattern cutter for fashion, working with Merchant and Mills and other small companies.

I originally did a Fashion Design Degree at Northumbria University (formally Newcastle upon Tyne Polytechnic) graduating in 1986. My first job after graduating was with Vivienne Westwood, initially as a pattern cutter, but later designing patterns for hand & machine knitwear and bead embroidery pieces. I have worked with various other companies in a freelance capacity, as a designer/pattern cutter, knitwear designer, and illustrator. I was also commissioned to design and make couture pieces for best selling novelist, Louise Rennison.

In resent years my work has mainly been as a freelance costume maker for Jane Law Ltd, Ann Maskrey and Glyndebourne Festival Opera.
